Okayama Prefecture is the only prefecture in Japan that officially includes IPv6 as part of its IT policy.

In March 2004, the prefecture completed IPv6 support on the core network of its public information infrastructure, “Okayama Information Highway”, which connects all cities and towns in the prefecture.
